ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to issue Medical Certificate to the Petitioner within the time stipulated by this Court. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.The Petitioner had sought for the Medical Certificate to be issued by the Department of Ophthalmology for the purpose of getting his driving licence. The Petitioner has stated that he had undergone various tests and examined as an outpatient on 29.6.2019 at Government Hospital, Trichy. After examination and assessment of his health condition, the relevant medical certificate was not issued to the Petitioner. Hence he has submitted a representation, dated 1.7.2019 to the respondent and as there was no response from the respondent, the present Writ Petition was filed for the relief stated supra.

4.However, pending the Writ Petition, the Petitioner was directed to appear before the Department of Ophthalmology, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital, Trichy, which is close to his residence. Accordingly, the Petitioner had appeared before the Medical Officer on 8.2.2020 and a certificate was also issued by the Medical Officer, Department of Ophthalmology, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital, Trichy, diagnosing that the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD)No.2361 of 2020 Petitioner has got defect in his eye and is unfit for driving. The said certificate was also communicated to the Petitioner on 10.2.2020.
