Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the municipality placed on record the instructions received by him, wherein it was indicated that the petitioners would be paid in two instalments and that the entire dues payable to the petitioners would be cleared within a period of three months. He further indicated that, with regard to the 20 other employees who have retired, their dues would be paid in 15 equal monthly instalments.

3. Recording the statement made by the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the municipality, these writ petitions are disposed of, with a direction to the respondents to strictly adhere the undertaking given to this Court. The payment to the petitioners shall commence from 01.01.2026, and such payment shall be made along with statutory interest. No costs. 19.11.2025 Index : Yes/No Speaking/Non-Speaking order gvn 4/6
