O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to make necessary corrections in the revenue records in respect of the land comprised in Survey No. 667/9A1B1, situated at Arasanga Nagar, Themankulam Village, Eral Taluk, Thoothukudi District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.11.2025 and consequently directing the respondents to issue a separate patta in favour of the petitioner on the basis of the sale deed dated 10.08.1971.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner's father purchased the subject property vide a registered sale deed dated 10.08.1971, constructed a house thereon and was residing in the same. Page No. 2 of 5

After his demise, the petitioner and his family members have been residing in the said house. In such circumstances, the petitioner approached the revenue authorities seeking issuance of patta in his favour. It came to the knowledge of the petitioner that the property had been wrongly classified as a vacant site. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 07.11.2025 to the first respondent seeking to carry out the necessary corrections in the revenue records and to issue a separate patta in favour of the petitioner. Since no action has been taken on the petitioner's representation, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 07.11.2022 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the first respondent within a period of sixteen weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation Page No. 3 of 5

dated 07.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The first respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. There shall be no order as to costs.
