ORDER : The Court made the following order :- Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent.
2. The petitioner apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under sections 448, 294(b), 324 and 506(i) of I.P.C., and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Woman Harassment Act, in Crime No.8 of 2020 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.
3. The defacto complainant in this case is mother-in-law of the petitioner. The petitioner is said to have suspected the fidelity and character of his wife. On the occurrence day, the petitioner went to the house of the defacto complainant and picked up a quarrel and caused serious injuries to the mother-in-law. The mother-in-law was in hospital for about 13 days. Earlier, the petitioner is said to have set fire to his own house.

4.The petitioner's counsel would state that the petitioner's house is remaining intact and what was burnt were only the articles of the wife.
5.Since the safety of woman folk is involved, I am not inclined to grant relief. Hence, this criminal original petition stands dismissed.
