O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 01.11.2025, seeking cancellation of Patta No.3383 in respect of Survey Nos.663A/2B and 696B/1, situated at Melagaram Village, Tenkasi District and consequently to restore Patta No.198, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject property originally belonged to the petitioner's grandfather and has been in the possession and enjoyment of the petitioner's family for several years. Due to fraudulent claims and fabricated documents created by third parties, civil disputes arose, in which the petitioner was allotted 1/9th share. The decree has attained finality. The final decree proceedings are presently pending in I.A.No.1 of 2020 in O.S. No.9 of 2011 on the file of the Sub Court, Tenkasi. However, despite having knowledge of the pending litigation, one Seliyan has fraudulently obtained a sale deed from one Page No. 2 of 5
Kamrudeen. Thereafter, he executed a settlement deed in favour of his son. Based on the said settlement deed, the revenue authorities issued a separate Patta No.3383 by subdividing the long-standing Patta No.198, without issuing notice to the existing pattadars and without conducting any enquiry. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 01.11.2025 seeking cancellation of the said patta. Though the District Collector forwarded the same for necessary action, no steps have been taken so far. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 01.11.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the second respondent within a period of sixteen weeks.
5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its merits Page No. 3 of 5
and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
