This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the fourth respondent to issue joint patta in the names of the legal heirs of deceased Muthukaruppan in respect of the property comprised in S.F.No. 33 situated at K.Pettai, Thimmatchipuram Village, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties.
3. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 17.11.2023 to the respondents seeking issuance of joint patta in the names of the legal heirs of deceased Muthukaruppan in respect of the properties referred to above. However, no action has been taken on the said representation. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
4. Learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 to 4, submits that the petitioner's representation would 2/5
be considered on merits and in accordance with law.
5. In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.11.2023 on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry. The fourth respondent is further directed to afford a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and to all other persons who may be affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry. There shall be no order as to costs.
