The present petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent herein to file a final report in Crime No. 26 of 2016 within a stipulated period in accordance with law.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the respondent police would file a final report within a period of eight weeks.

4. Recording the said submission, this Court directs the respondent police to file a final report within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
