ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed praying to call for records pertaining to the FIR in Crime No.10 of 2014 on the file of the first respondent Police and quash the same.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the first respondent and the learned counsel appearing for the second respondent.
3. The petitioners are arrayed as accused Nos.2, 3 to 5 in Crime No.10 of 2014 for the alleged offences under Sections 498(A) and 406 of the Indian Penal Code and also under Sections 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act and 4 of Tamil Nadu Prevention of Women Harassment Act.
4. When the matter is taken up for hearing, both the counsels submitted that before the Mediation and Conciliation Centre in Mediation Case No.789 of 2014, the matter has been compromised. The settlement https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
agreement has been signed on 05.12.2014 and the parties are also present before this Court.
5. In view of the same, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose will be served by proceeding further in this matter.
6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed and the proceedings in Crime No.10 of 2014 on the file of the first respondent Police is quashed. However, as the terms of the compromise are not satisfied qua the respondent No.2, it is open to her to file a petition to review the order. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are also closed.
