ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by M.DURAISWAMY,J.] The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to take appropriate action against the respondents 4 to 6 for not permitting the petitioner to exercise his vote in the Local Body Election conducted on 30.12.2019 in K.Karungulam Panchayat, Paramakudi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, based on the petitioner's representations dated 30.01.2020 and 03.01.2020 within a time frame.

2. Mr.K.Chellapandian, learned Additional Advocate General, appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the Tahsildar, who is the second respondent and also the Block Development Officer, who is the third respondnet, on receipt of the petitioner's representations have asked the authorities to enquire into the complaint made by the petitioner and file a report. The Block Development Officer has returned to the authorities on 25.01.2020, whereas the Tahsildar has returned to the authority on 08.01.2020.

3. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, who also received a copy of the two letters from the learned Additional Advocate General, submitted that in view of the said letters, the Writ Petition may be closed.

4. In view of the submissions made by the learned Counsel appearing on either side, the Writ Petition is closed. However, the authorities shall proceed further and act in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
