To extend the time limit fixed by this Hon ble Court in Crl.MP(MD)No.4930 of 2021 in Crl.OP(MD)No.2792 of 2019, dated 20.07.2021 to six months.

Prayer in CRL.OP(MD) NO. 2792 of 2019 :- This Criminal Original Petition to direct the 3rd respondent herein to investigate and file a report in Crime No.555/2017 on the file of Inspector of Police, City Crime Branch, Trichy in an expeditious manner and within the time stipulated by this Honourable Court.

ORDER:- This Miscellaneous Petition coming on for orders on this day and upon perusing the earlier order of this court dated 24/04/2019, and upon perusing the petition and affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of Mr. M.MUTHUMANIKKAM, Government Advocate (Criminal) for the petitoner, and Mr. M.Palaniraja for Respondent , this court made the following order:

It is a second extension of time petition filed by the prosecution. Earlier petition in Crl.MP(MD)No.4930 of 2021 was allowed by the order dated 20.07.2021, by giving a direction to the petitioners herein to complete the investigation and file a final report within a period of 6 months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that after the above said order, the accounts of the accused were identified in Odisha. According to him, all the accused are absconding and all belong North India. Because of the pandemic situation, they are not in a position to travel to North India and Special Team has been formed for secure the accused. Hence, he seeks further 6 months time to file a final report. 3.Considering the request made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, 6 months time is extended from the date of receipt of a copy of this order for filing a final report. 4.Accordingly, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is allowed. 5.The Registry is directed to print the name of Mr.M.Palaniraja, learned counsel for the respondent in the cause list.
