O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus directing the first respondent to renew the passport of the petitioner based upon his application dated 19.12.2025.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the second respondent brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner has been implicated in a criminal case in Crime No.219 of 2020 on the file of the second respondent police station. Though charge sheet has been made ready, so far, it has not been filed.

3. A perusal of the FIR reveals that it relates to the rash and negligent driving of the van by the petitioner. Considering the fact that so far charge sheet has not been filed, there is no legal impediment for the first respondent to consider the application for issuance of passport. 2/4

4. In view of the above said facts, the first respondent is directed to consider the application of the writ petitioner for renewal and issuance of passport and pass orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
