PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to transfer the petitioner's from the circle of Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, Tirunelveli to any of the vacant place as driver at Anamalai Tiger Reserve, Coimbatore based on his representations dated 11.01.2025 and 23.01.2025 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court. ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by a Special Grade Driver working in the Forest Department, Tirunelveli District, seeking a mandamus to transfer him from Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, Tirunelveli to any of the vacant place at Anamalai Tiger Reserve, Coimbatore based upon his representations dated 11.01.2025 and 23.01.2025.

2. A perusal of the records reveal that the petitioner made a similar request through online in the year 2024 and the same was rejected on the ground that the petitioner has not completed one year of service at Aralvaimozhi, Kanayakumari Range.

3. The petitioner has made a online application to the respondents on 11.01.2025 and 23.01.2025 seeking transfer to any one of the vacant place, as driver at Anamalai Tiger Reserve, Coimbatore. So far, the request of the petitioner has not been considered. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, to take care of his aged parents and studies of the son, he made such request for transfer to Coimbatore.

5. Per contra, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents had contended that present online application of the petitioner cannot be considered. He further submits that the online application portal will be opened only in the month March.

6. Considering the above said facts, the petitioner is directed to make online application as and when the portal is opened by the respondent authorities. The request of the petitioner may be considered on merits and in accordance with law, based upon the online application of the petitioner. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of online application.

7. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands closed. No costs.
