O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to rectify the classification in the ARegister in respect of Survey No.618/19, measuring an extent of 30 square metres, situated at Vadakavunji Village, Kodaikanal Taluk, Dindigul District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 21.12.2025.
2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject property was assigned to the petitioner, in which the petitioner has constructed a house and has been residing thereon without any hindrance from anyone. A patta was also granted in favour of the petitioner. However, the classification of the said land has been erroneously mentioned as "Anatheenam" in the Village Revenue Records, such as the A-Register. Even after the assignment, the authorities have not rectified the said entry. Due to the Page No. 2 of 5
same, the petitioner and other beneficiaries are facing several difficulties. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 21.12.2025 to the respondents seeking rectification of the classification in the ARegister in respect of the subject property. However, no action has been taken on the petitioner's representation. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 21.12.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the first respondent within a period of twelve weeks.
5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The first respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other Page No. 3 of 5
