Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the the respondents to grant permission and provide police protection to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 20.02.2021 and 21.02.2021, which will be conducted at the ground situated near Mariamman Temple, Sirukambur Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 02.02.2021.

2. Mr.R.Saravanakumar, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for the respondents.

3. On the side of the petitioner it is stated that the petitioner has been conducting Kabadi Tournament for the past 29 years and prayed for permission to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 20.02.2021 and 21.02.2021.

4.On the side of the respondents it is stated that the petitioner has not approached the District Collector for permission as per G.O.Ms.No.654 of 2020, Revenue and Disaster Management (DMIV) Department, dated 21.11.2020. Permission for conducting Kabadi Tournament has to be obtained only from the District Collector and prayed the petition to be dismissed.

5. In the circumstances, the petitioner is directed to approach the concerned District Collector for necessary permission.
