This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's Page No. 1 of 4

appeal dated 05.01.2026, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that, though the petitioner is the sole owner of the properties in Survey Field Nos.82/18A (4 cents), 82/18B (6 cents), 82/18C (3 cents), 82/18D (5 cents) and 82/17B (8 cents), the patta has been wrongly entered as a joint patta, including the name of the petitioner's brother, late Natesan. Therefore, the petitioner filed an appeal dated 05.01.2026 before the first respondent seeking issuance of a separate and exclusive patta for the said properties. However, no action has been taken on the same. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's appeal dated 05.01.2026 would be disposed of by the first respondent within a period of twelve weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 05.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The appeal shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The first respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. There shall be no order as to costs.
