Crime No.03 of 2012 : Respondent PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., to direct the respondent to expedite the investigation in connection with Crime No.03 of 2012 on the file of the Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Lalgudi, Trichy and subsequently conclude the same within the time frame thereupon as specified by this Court and later lay the final report without any further delay in the Court concerned forthwith. ORDER

This petition is filed for a direction to the Investigating Agency to file a final report in Crime No.03 of 2012.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent.

3. Earlier when the matter came up for hearing on 28.03.2019, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor made a statement that the final report was laid on 10.12.2012 but the same came to be returned on 24.10.2016. Hence, this Court required a report from the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tirichy District on the said facts.

4. A report of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Trichy dated 23.04.2019 has been received, in which it is mentioned that the final report was laid on 01.04.2015 and as the details regarding the accused were incomplete, the charge sheet was returned. Thereafter, the final report was laid only on 14.04.2019 and cognizance have been taken on it and the case is numbered as C.C.No.8 of 2019.

5. Since the final report is now laid, nothing survives in this petition.

Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
