ORDER
The petitioner had sent a representation dated 06.01.2025 seeking police protection for the temple festival for celebration of "Masi Kalari Thiruvizha @ Maha Sivarathiri Thiruvizha" scheduled to be held on 26.02.2025 to 01.03.2025 in Arulmighu Sri Palmelikudayavar Ayyanar @ Ayyan Temple situated at Vallanthai Village, T.Punavasal Post, Abiramam Via, Kamudhi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District.
2.According to the petitioner, the temple festival is to be held for four days from 26.02.2025 to 11.03.2025. In this festival, the entire villagers will participate. Since there will be a huge number of people, it will be better to provide police protection for safety and security and to avoid any theft of missing of articles and keeping vigil over the area. In respect of his contention, he has also produced photographs of the temple and produced the last year celebrations.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police submits that this festival is being conducted for several years. Totally 15 villagers will participate in the temple festival. There is a Nine Member Committee, which is taking care of the administration of the temple. As regards the petitioner is concerned, he is the erstwhile poojari of the temple and he was removed from the poojariship from the temple by the Nine Member Committee finding that the petitioner has involved in misappropriation of the temple funds. Hence, the petitioner cannot claim any right as poojari of the temple and as a villager, he can very well participate in the temple function. He further submits that like previous years, regular police protection will be given. 4.In view of the fact that the respondent police is ready to give police protection for the temple festival like previous years, there is no necessity to issue specific direction to the respondent police. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
