ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 31.10.2025, in accordance with law, and to issue patta in respect of the lands situated at Velur Village, Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk, Thanjavur District, namely: Survey No.14/1 to an extent of 0.48.00 Ares; Survey No.14/2 to an extent of 1.04.00 Ares; Survey No.14/3 to an extent of 0.48.50 Ares; Survey No.16/3 to an extent of 0.23.50 Ares; Survey No.16/4 to an extent of 0.59.50 Ares; and Survey No.16/5 to an extent of 0.20.00 Ares, within the time to be fixed by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the lawful owner and is in possession of the subject properties. She submitted an application dated 31.10.2025 requesting transfer of patta in her name. However, the respondent has not considered the said representation till date. Hence, this Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the

petitioner's representation and issue patta within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent submits that the petitioner's application will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law.

Recording the aforesaid submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.10.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The application shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The respondent is directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision. Needless to state that in the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
