ORDER

The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent to complete the investigation and lay a final report in Crime No.1896 of 2016.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that there is a counter case in Crime No.1897 of 2016. Earlier, the respondent had filed a closure report stating that the allegation made in the FIR is a mistake of fact. Thereafter, the petitioner had moved the Magistrate in Crl.M.P.No.1003 of 2018 before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Madurai, protesting the said final report and the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Madurai, has directed the respondent police to do further investigation in the matter under Section 173(8) Cr.P.C., Vide its order dated 21.02.2018, in Crl.M.P.No.1003 of 2018.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the investigation will be concluded shortly.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent police is directed to file a final report in Crime No.1896 of 2016, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
