ORDER

The learned Counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner had filed this Writ Petition seeking directions against the Respondent to give permission and protection for conducting Sri Pottal Sudalai Maada Suvamy Thirukovil Kodai festival function on 09.02.2024 and 10.02.2024 at Pungampatti Village, Aalangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions of the Respondent, would submit that there are two groups in the village. Therefore, a peace committee meeting is convened today by the Tahsildar, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District. As per the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the Respondent Police had filed a report regarding breach of peace and apprehension in the village, where there are two rival groups. Therefore, based on the report of the Respondent Police, the Tahsildar, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District as Executive Magistrate had convened the peace committee meeting.

3.Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the Petitioner is directed to co-operate with the peace committee meeting conducted by the Tahsildar, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District. The Tahsildar, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District, shall pass appropriate orders after the conclusion of the peace committee meeting.
