ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to make a reference to the competent Court against Award No. 21/2024 in Na.Ka.No.A2/28/2022 dated 10.06.2024, by considering the petitioner's application dated 25.08.2025, in accordance with Section 8 of the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Land for Industrial Purposes Act, 1997 and the Tamil Nadu Land Acquisition Laws (Revival of Operation, Amendment and Validation) Act, 2019, within the time to be fixed by this Court.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's land was acquired and Award No.21/2024 dated 10.06.2024 was passed by the second respondent. The petitioner, being aggrieved by the compensation awarded, submitted an application dated 25.08.2025 seeking reference to the competent Civil Court under Section 8 of the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Land for Industrial
Purposes Act, 1997 read with the Tamil Nadu Land Acquisition Laws (Revival of Operation, Amendment and Validation) Act, 2019. However, the second respondent has failed to make the reference within the statutory time. Hence, this Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to make such reference within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.08.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to all the necessary parties, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
