The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the first respondent to provide appointment to the petitioner on compassionate ground.
2. The father of the writ petitioner namely Tamilarasan was employed as Office Assistant in Sub-Registrar Office and died on 25.09.1998, while he was in service. During the relevant point of time, the petitioner was a minor and she has completed the education in the year 2014. The petitioner states that she possessed B.Com Degree and she is now having the computer qualification in Diploma M.S office. Based on the qualification, the petitioner submitted an application seeking appointment on compassionate ground through application dated 20.07.2015 which is not in the prescribed format but by way of a representation. 3. This Court is of the considered opinion that the father of the writ petitioner admittedly died on 25.09.1998 and the writ petitioner was a minor during the relevant point of time. The application was submitted in the year 2015, after a lapse of about 17 years from the date of death of the deceased employee and now 23 years lapsed. The application itself was beyond the period contemplated under the Scheme. Under these circumstances, the petitioner is not eligible to seek appointment on compassionate ground.
