ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to direct the second respondent to provide adequate police protection for life and limb of the petitioner on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 21.01.2020 preferred by the petitioner in accordance with law.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is a social activist. He has given complaint against one Franklin who is a habitual offender and history sheeter in Boothapandy Police Station. The said Franklin who had illegally occupied land in S.No.598 of Galam Panchyat, Thovalai Taluk, Kanyakumari District to an extent of 4 Acres, 1 Hectare 65 Ares which absolutely belongs to Public Works Department sold the same to some third party. While being so on 06.01.2020 the said Franklin along with some rowdy elements came to the house of the petitioner and threatened him. Since the petitioner feels that his life is endangered he had given complaint on 21.01.2020 to the respondent police. Till date the respondent have not any action, he has filed the present petition.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that complaint of the petitioner has been received by registered post. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.2392 of 2020 The petitioner had earlier sent complaint to the Honourable Prime Minister which was forwarded to the police for enquiry, for which enquiry was conducted and the same was closed. Now he has sent the petition by registered post and if he appears in person, proper enquiry will be conducted and necessary protection will be given.

4. Recording the same, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
