ORDER

This petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in S.C.No.596 of 2017 pending on the file of the learned VIth Additional District and Sessions Judge, Madurai.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the first respondent.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the trial in this case has been commenced. He further submitted that as many as nine witnesses have been examined and material witnesses have also turned hostile.

4. Inasmuch as substantial portion of the trial had already been concluded, it is not appropriate for this Court now to entertain this petition for quashing the charge sheet. Hence, this criminal original petition is dismissed.

5. In view of the above, this Court now directs the learned Magistrate to expedite and complete the process of trial and dispose of the matter within a period of two months excluding the ensuing https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

summer vacation, May, 2019. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
