Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take necessary steps by bring in appropriate amendment to the existing provision of the Tamil Nadu Panchayat Act and Tamil Nadu District Municipality Act to prescribe minimum education qualification preferably a Bachelors degree as mandatory for the candidates who are contesting the local body election to be held hereafter on the basis of representation of the petitioner dated 13.03.2018 to secure the real object of part IX of the Constitution of India.
