PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C to direct the respondents 1 & 2 to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and her family members as well as the petitioner's properties, situating in town survey nos.2555, 2556, 2557, 2558, 2559, 2550, 2551 and 2553, to an extent of 40 cents, situating in Karaiyadipacheri, Kandiyaperi Village, 18th Ward, Tirunelveli Taluk, Tirunelveli District based on the petitioner's representation dated 26.11.2018 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

The petitioner's minor daughter owns a piece of property and the petitioner is her guardian managing the property. Be that as it may, there is some money transaction between the petitioner and the third respondent. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the matter is now settled.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that both the petitioner and the third respondent have preferred separate complaints and they are being enquired into.

4. Suffice to say for the present, the second respondent is

directed to cause such necessary enquiry to ascertain if there is any threat and if it is so, the second respondent shall take such appropriate decision as may be necessary to protect the life, limb and liberty of the petitioner.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.

6. It is made clear that this Court does not order granting of police protection 24 x 7 and the second respondent is left to decide on the basis of the objective assessment of the threat perception of t he petitioner from time to time.
