Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records of the impugned order of the second respondent dated 03.01.2021 and quash the same and consequently direct the second respondent to grant permission to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 13.02.2021 and 14.02.2021 within the time fixed by this Court. ORDER

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.R.Saravana Kumar, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for the respondents.

3. On the side of the petitioner it is stated that Kabadi Tournament is scheduled to be held on 13.02.2021 and 14.02.2021. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation and the same was rejected by the second respondent citing the present Covid-19 pandemic situation.

4.On the side of the respondents it is stated that the petitioner has not approached the District Collector for permission as per G.O.Ms.No.654 of 2020, Revenue and Disaster Management (DMIV) Department, dated 21.11.2020. Permission for conducting Kabadi Tournament has to be obtained only from the District Collector and prayed the petition to be dismissed.

5. In the circumstances, the petitioner is directed to approach the concerned District Collector for necessary permission. On such https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.2590 of 2021 representation, the concerned District Collector is directed to consider the same on the same date, in accordance with law. 6.With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
