Mandamus, directing the respondent to process the petitioners' representation dated 16.01.2024 and issue permanent permits within a time frame fixed by this Court.

For Petitioner : Mr.M.Sheik Abdullah For Respondent : Mr.R.Suresh Kumar Additional Government Pleader (In all WPs) C O M M O N O R D E R The petitioners with a grievance that their applications for grant of permanent permit for their E-Auto have not been processed by the Regional Transport Officer, Madurai have filed these writ petitions for a Mandamus, directing the respondents to process the petitioners' applications and issue permanent permits to their vehicles.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners were selected by the Industrial Centre, Madurai under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme and they have purchased E-Autos under the scheme by availing loan from the State Bank of India. At the time of purchase, temporary registration has 2/5

been done and in order to obtain permanent registration with permit, the petitioners have submitted applications before the respondent. However, it was not processed. Hence, the petitioners are before this Court.

3.Mr.Suresh Kumar, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent and submits that the petitioners have submitted their applications on 19.01.2024 through registered post and it reaches the office only on 20.01.2024. The petitioners have failed to furnish the required documents along with their applications and they have not approached the authorities concerned for further process. If the petitioners approached the authorities along with the required documents in person, the applications would be processed within a reasonable time. 4.Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, these writ petitions are closed with 3/5

a direction to the petitioners to approach the concerned authorities along with the required documents on 14.02.2024. On receipt of the required documents, the respondent shall take a decision on grant of permanent registration of the petitioners' vehicles within a period of three weeks from thereon. No costs.
