ORDER

By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. Heard Ms.S.Valarmathi appearing for the writ petitioner, Mr.S.Shaji Bino, learned Special Government Pleader for the first respondent and Mr.K.Muralidharan appearing for the second respondent.

3. The writ petitioner has preferred a statutory appeal invoking Section 25A of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act of 1969, before the first respondent.

4. Ms.Valarmathi pleads that though notices had been sent for appearance before the first respondent on several occasions, the matter has been adjourned without giving a disposal to the case.

5. Mr.K.Muralidharan states that the second respondent has retired from service and he is no more residing at Chokkikulam in Madurai and that he has since shifted his residence to the city of Chennai.

6. The learned Special Government Pleader states that on appearance of both parties before the first respondent, the said authority would hear the appeal and dispose it of within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of appearance.

7. By consent of the parties, they shall appear before the first respondent on 27.02.2025. The first respondent shall dispose of the appeal in Na.Ka. 1023479/2023/AAR1, on or before 31.03.2025.

8. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
