Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to issue patta in favour of Members of Sakkuvambalpuram Grama Nalasangam ACM Society in respect of the their respective houses at No.80, Sakkuvambalpuram @ Ammachathiram Village within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner represents the interests of some 200 occupants of Sakkuvambalpuram Village, Thanjavur District. The occupants seek patta and their application is presently pending with the second respondent.

3.The second respondent is directed to consider the request of the petitioner for issuance of patta. An appropriate order on merits and in accordance with law will be passed by the second respondent within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4.This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
