ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 3 and 4 to implement the order of the second respondent bearing proceeding No.Ne.Mu.No.E-1462084/2024/G5 dated 22.01.2025 within a stipulated period as fixed by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner, along with others, are lawful occupants and interested persons in respect of lands situated at Saptur Village, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District. The lands in question originally belonged to various individuals, some by ancestral inheritance and some through valid sale deeds, and are recorded in the revenue records maintained by the Revenue Department. The petitioner and other villagers have

been using a cart track running north to south across Survey No.203 for many years to access places like Kannimar Kovil, Pulloorani, and Vellkaradu, and this track is reflected in the "A" Register against Survey Nos.201/4, 102/9, 193/1, 195/1, and 195/12. During the implementation of the UDR Scheme, due to errors by the Revenue Officials, the said cart track was omitted from the records. Hence, the petitioner submitted representations to the Revenue Authorities seeking rectification of these long-standing discrepancies. After due verification, enquiry, and field inspection, the second respondent passed a detailed order dated 22.01.2025, directing necessary corrections and consequential actions to be carried out by the fourth respondent. The order has attained finality and has not been stayed, modified, or set aside, and the findings and directions are binding on all subordinate officials. The petitioner, therefore, seeks appropriate directions for implementation of the said order.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the respondents 3 and 4 require twelve weeks' time to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

Recording the above submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the respondents 3 and 4 to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after giving due opportunity to the petitioner and all other persons, who may be interested in the subject matter, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that this Court has not expressed any of its views with regard to the merits of the matter and that it is open to the respondents 3 and 4 to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.
