This Writ Petition is filed for issuing a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to grant permission to celebrate the Samathuva Pongal Festival and Fresher Day Party at the Ramanathapuram Government Law College on 12.02.2020 from 09.30 a.m. to 01.30 p.m., on the basis of the petitioner's representation, dated 31.01.2020.

W.P.(MD)No.2401 of 2020 2.By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.Considering the nature of grievance expressed by the petitioner in this Writ Petition and the fact that the petitioner has proposed to celebrate Samathuva Pongal Festival and Fresher Day Party within the College premises on 12.02.2020, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner in consultation with the first respondent and take a decision either way on or before 10.02.2020.

4.It is open to the second respondent to take an independent decision, considering whether the students are united in celebrating the function and other factors to protect the interest of the unity among the students and peace and harmony in the Institution. No costs.
