PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent herein to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's final representation dated 29.10.2021, seeking to disburse forthwith the sum of Rs.1,40,000/- (Rupees One Lakh and Forty Thousand Only) towards the medical expenses incurred for Covid -19 treatment in Dr.Kumaraswami Health Centre, Perumalpuram, Kanyakumari District.

O R D E R

This writ petition is filed for a Mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 29.10.2021.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is a family pensioner and she suffered from COVID 19, during May 2021. She was admitted in Dr.Kumaraswai Health Centre, Perumalpuram, took treatment from 08.05.2021 to 15.05.2021 and incurred a sum of Rs.1,40,000/-, towards medical expenses. The Government has also taken a decision that the medical expenses incurred towards COVID 19 can be reimbursed. The grievance of the petitioner is that though 1/3

the Hospital, wherein, the petitioner took treatment is a network hospital, the claim of the petitioner was not considered. Therefore the petitioner made several representations and also approached this Court by way of the present writ petition, seeking for a Mandamus. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has confined with the relief that let the respondents take a decision on her representation dated 29.10.2021, within a reasonable time. 4.Mr.S.Saji Bino, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.

5.The petitioner is a family pensioner and she took treatment for COVID 19 in a network hospital and she incurred a sum of Rs.1,40,000/- towards medical expenses. She made several representations and finally on 29.10.2021. The respondents have not taken any action for the past three months on her representation. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without expressing anything on the merit of the claim made by the petitioner, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.10.2021, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
