(Order of the Court was made by G.K.ILANTHIRAIYAN, J.) This Habeus Corpus Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 2 to produce the person or body of the petitioner's daughter namely Manipriya, D/o.Saralkani aged about 18 years and set her at liberty.

2. The petitioner is the mother of the detenu. The detenu is aged about 18 years old and from 23.12.2025 she was missing from the house . Therefore the petitioner lodged complaint before the second respondent and the same has been registered in Crime No.583 of 2025 under 'Woman missing'. After registration of the First Information Report the second respondent conducted enquiry and found that the daughter of the petitioner attained majority and she is aged about 18 years. She fell in love with one Madhavan and eloped with him and the respondent police are searching for their whereabouts.

3. Admittedly the daughter of the petitioner is major and on her own she eloped with one Madhavan and married him, therefore it cannot be said that the daughter of the petitioner is under illegal detention of anybody.

4. In view of the same, the petition stands dismissed. However the second respondent is directed to complete the investigation and file final report in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order [G.K.I., J.] [R.P., J.] 29.01.2026 aav To
