The instant Writ Petition has been filed by an Assistant employed at Manamadurai Panchayat Union, seeking a Mandamus to correct the petitioner's date of birth as 05.10.1968 in stead of 10.05.1965.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the petitioner's correct date of birth is 05.10.1968, but, it has been erroneously entered in the Service Record as 10.05.1965. According to him, the petitioner was appointed as Junior Assistant on 06.03.2013 and he had made an application to the second respondent on 24.07.2014 seeking alteration of the date of birth. So far, no decision has been taken by the second respondent, hence the present writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 3 and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the second respondent. 2/4

4. Considering the above said facts, the second respondent herein is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
