O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the first respondent to implement the order passed by the third respondent in proceeding A/15/2012, dated 11.06.2014, in letter and spirit, within the time limit stipulated by this Court. 2/6

The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner, aggrieved by the inaction of the first respondent in not acting upon the directions issued by the third respondent/Inspector of Labour, directing that the petitioners herein be conferred with permanent status. According to the learned counsel for the petitioners, such conferment of permanent status was confirmed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.

The learned Additional Solicitor General appearing for respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the order passed by the third respondent/Inspector of Labour on 11.06.2014 was challenged before this Court. This Court, by its order dated 22.02.2018 in W.P.(MD) No. 12226 of 2014, dismissed the said writ petition. Against the said order, an appeal was preferred in W.A.(MD) No.989 of 2018, which was also dismissed by this Court vide judgment dated 25.07.2018. Thereafter, S.L.P. (C) No.16189 of 2019 was preferred before the Hon'ble Supreme Court and the Apex Court confirmed the order of the third respondent/Inspector of Labour, thereby giving finality to the said order.

4. In view of the above, since the order of the third respondent has 3/6

attained finality, it is the duty of the first respondent to confer permanent status upon the petitioners. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
