PRAYER :- Writ Petition filed under article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 3 and 4 to preserve a backup the copy of CCTV footage of respective dates from 02.01.2026 to 05.01.2026 of the 4th respondent police stations CCTV footage and Hindu Nadar Uravin Murai committee Higher Secondary School, Ariyanakapuram based on petitioner's representation dated 07.01.1026 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 3 and 4 to preserve a backup copy of the CCTV footage for the period from 02.01.2026 to 05.01.2026 relating to the 4th respondent Police Station and Hindu Nadar Uravin Murai Committee Higher Secondary School, Ariyanakapuram, based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.01.2026, within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

Government Advocate (Criminal Side), takes notice for respondents 2 to 4.

3. On perusal of the records, it is seen that the petitioner has not been impleaded in the said school. Further, the respondents submitted that the CCTV footage cannot be handed over to the petitioner, however, they undertake to preserve the same.

4. In view of the above submission, the prayer is modified, and the respondents are directed to preserve the CCTV footage for the period from 02.01.2026 to 05.01.2026.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. 30.01.2026 TRP Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No 3/5
