ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to dirct the respondents to grant permission and adequate police protection for conducting Kabadi (55 Kg. weight match) Tournament at Kilputhaneri, Murappanadu Taluk, Thoothukudi District on 01.02.2025 at 10.00 PM and 02.02.2025 at 12.00 AM, by considering the petitioners representation dated 20.01.2025 in person within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that he has given a representation on 20.01.2025 for conducting kabadi tournament at Kilputhaneri, Murappanadu Taluk, Thoothukudi District on 01.02.2025 at 10.00 PM and 02.02.2025 at 12.00 AM, the same was not considered. He would further submit that arrangements have been made to conduct the match.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that in this case the petitioner's request for permission has been sent by post dated 20.01.2024 which was received on 27.01.2025 where in it was found that the representation was without any particulars about the team, medical arrangements, source of energy, permission from the EB authorities, ambulance and permission for sound service had been submitted. Further there is a communal clash in and around the Kilputhaneri village and hence the representation of the petitioner was rejected on 29.01.2025.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the rejection copy was not served to the petitioner and he was not aware about the same. The petitioner is ready to provide all the credentials that the tournament was held for the past seven years without any law and order issue and he is ready to give an undertaking and all details with regard to the medical team and also other relevant documents. 3/6

5. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that in the event if such documents are filed appropriate decision would be taken in this regard.

6. In view of the same, the petitioner is directed to approach the third respondent today (30.01.2025) by 4.00 p,m, and submit all documents and undertaking and thereafter the third respondent to consider all those materials and take appropriate decision forthwith.

7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
