ORDER
The learned Counsel for the Petitioner submits that this Writ Petition is filed to direct the second Respondent to give permission and adequate protection for conducting the Aadal Padal Program to be conducted at Arulmighu Sri Ayyanar Ammachi Amman and Soani Karuppanaswamy Temple on 08.02.2024 and 09.02.2024 at about 06.00 PM to 11.00 PM in Kovilpapakudi Village, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District. It is his further submission that the second Respondent had refused to grant the permission on the ground that there had been local dispute.
2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submits that there had been rival groups in the same village regarding organizing of the temple festival. Therefore, apprehending law and order issues, the second Respondent had refused to grant the permission. Also, the second Respondent had referred the 2/5
dispute by sending a report to the Tahsildar, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai. 3.The learned Counsel for the Petitioner undertakes that the Petitioner will appear before the Tahsildar, Madurai North Taluk today itself. 4.In the light of the undertaking given by the learned Counsel for the Petitioner, the Respondents are directed to take appropriate action for convening a peace committee meeting on 05.02.2024 after issuing summons to both the Petitioner and the rival parties. Even though, the Tahsildar, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai, is not impleaded to this proceedings, he is requested to pass appropriate orders.
