PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of habeas corpus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to produce the body or person of the detenue namely Minor daughter Selvi.Dharani, son of Murugan, aged about 17 years, before this Court and hand over the custody of her to the petitioner, by considering the representation sent by the petitioner, dated 23.01.2025.

The father of a minor girl is before this Court stating that his daughter, who is aged about 17 years, gone missing since 11.01.2025 and despite registration of a complaint, the respondent - Police has not traced her.

2. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, on instructions, states that pursuant to the complaint given by the petitioner, his daughter was traced at Kerala and from the investigation, it appears that she has eloped with one Venkatesh, who is now absconding. The petitioner's daughter has been secured and she is now placed in a home. Further, the respondent - Police is taking all steps to subject her to medical examination and to record her statement by the learned Judicial Magistrate.

3. Considering the fact that the petitioner's daughter has been secured and she is now placed in a home for her safety, this habeas corpus petition is dismissed.
