ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for R1. Considering the nature of relief to be granted, notice to R2 is dispensed with. 2.The petitioner is a ninety three years old woman. She seeks relief against her son Karuppanan/R2 herein under Section 23(1) of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

3.Considering the age of the petitioner, the first respondent is directed to dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The first respondent will of-course hear the second respondent before passing any final order. Proper enquiry as contemplated under law will be conducted. But then, the entire process must be fast tracked. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter.
