PRAYER: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of certiorarified mandamus calling for the records relating to the impugned order bearing No.TNPCS/6500/2025E.W.3, dated 24.11.2025 passed by the 1st respondent herein and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the 1st respondent to post the petitioner in the districts of Vellore or Kancheepuram or Tiruvannamalai within a period which may be stipulated by this court. 1/4

ORDER

The petitioner who is working in Vellore Central Prison has been transferred and posted at Trichy Central Prison. The petitioner has joined duty in the transferred place and has filed this writ petition claiming that he is facing difficulties due to his family circumstances and health conditions of his parents and has requested to transfer him back to Vellore in any of the five existing vacancies. 2.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents raised serious objection that the petitioner was working Vellore nearly for eight years from the year 2017 and he cannot claim it as a right to transfer him back to Vellore. Further on the direction of this court, the learned Additional Government Pleader collected details of the vacancies around Vellore and submitted that there are vacancies in Gingee Sub Jail and Dharmapuri District Jail. 2/4

3.This court considered the rival submissions. 4.In the event if it is possible, the petitioner can be accommodated in the nearby vacancy. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
