ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to grant permission and protection to conduct cultural program on 29.01.2026 between 8.00 p.m to 12.00 P.M in the drama stage situate in front of the temple on the occasion of third day Thai Thiruviza festival Mandagapadi @ Devi Sri Sitraru Veeriyamman Kovil situate at Ilanji Village, Tenkasi Taluk, Tenkasi District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 23.01.2026.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police, submitted that since the petitioner sought permission beyond 10.00 p.m., the respondent police rejected the petitioner's request. He further submitted that the petitioner cannot be permitted to conduct a cultural programme and may be allowed to conduct only light music.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is ready and willing to conduct light music within the limited time.

4. In view of the above submission, the second respondent is directed to grant permission and protection to conduct the light music alone on 29.01.2026 between 08.00 p.m to 10.00 p.m.

5. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
