Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission for conducting village level food light Kabadi Tournament to be held on 13.02.2021 at about 10.00 am., to 14.02.2021 at about 09.00pm., at Muthalamman temple ground, Usilampatti Village, Karuvanur Post, Madurai District based on the petitioner's representation dated 02.02.2021 submitted before the respondents. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.R.Saravana Kumar, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for the respondents.

3. On the side of the petitioner it is stated that the petitioner has decided to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 13.02.2021 and 14.02.2021 at Muthalamman temple ground, Usilampatti Village, Karuvanur Post, Madurai District. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 02.02.2021 to the respondents. 4.On the side of the respondents it is stated that the petitioner has not approached the District Collector for permission as per G.O.Ms.No.654 of 2020, Revenue and Disaster Management (DMIV) Department, dated 21.11.2020. Permission for conducting Kabadi Tournament has to be obtained only from the District Collector and prayed the petition to be dismissed.

5. In the circumstances, the petitioner is directed to approach the concerned District Collector for necessary permission. On such representation, the concerned District Collector is directed to consider the same on the same date, in accordance with law. 6.With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
