Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to rectify the pay anomaly of the petitioner on par with the fourth respondent on the basis of the representation given by the petitioner on 09.09.2020.

By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 2.The petitioner herein is aggrieved against the pay anomaly and in this connection, he had made a representation seeking for rectification of the anomaly. The petitioner herein is a retired Special Sub Inspector of Police. Since the petitioner is a retired employee, the appropriate authority to consider such rectification of the pay anomaly would be the Secretary, Home Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. Since the petitioner has made a representation only to the second and third respondents, it would be appropriate to grant liberty to the petitioner to approach the Government and thereby the ends of justice could be secured. Hence, the Secretary, Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Secretariat, Fort St.
George, Chennai, is hereby suo motu impleaded as a party respondent. 3.In the light of the above observations, the petitioner is granted liberty to make a fresh representation to the Secretary, Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai, ventilating his grievances and on receipt of the same, The Secretary, Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai, shall consider the same, on its own merits and take appropriate course of action in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, in any event, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of the representation.
4.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
