O R D E R

The petitioner, who is the accused in C.C.No.99 of 2022, has filed this Petition, to direct the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Peravurani, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.99 of 2022.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the case in Crime No.6 of 2013 was registered in the year 2013 and the charge sheet was filed in the year 2017 in C.C.No.107 of 2017. Thereafter, the case was transferred from the Judicial Magistrate, Pattukottai to the District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Peravurani and now is pending in C.C.No.99 of 2022. Since the case is pending from the year 2013, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction for early disposal.

3. Pending this application, the defacto complainant has filed an application in Crl.M.P.(MD)No.2150 of 2024, seeking to intervene in the petition and also sought for transferring the investigation. When the case was came up for hearing on 03.06.2024, there is no representation for the petitioner in Crl.M.P.(MD)No.2150 of 2024. Hence, the matter is

listed today under the caption "for dismissal". Even today (i.e., 05.06.2024), there is no representation for the petitioner in Crl.M.P. (MD)No.2150 of 2024. Hence, the Petition in Crl.M.P.(MD)No.2150 of 2024 is dismissed.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submits that the next date of hearing before the trial Court is 18.06.2024 for appearance of the accused.

5. A perusal of the records would clearly reveal that the case, which was registered in the year 2013 and charge sheeted in the year 2017, is kept pending without any progress. Therefore, the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Peravurani, is directed to expedite the trial in C.C.No.99 of 2022 and to conclude the same within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
