Respondents Prayer: Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code praying to direct the 2nd respondent to provide the adequate police protection to the petitioner and his party office bearers from the respondents 3 to 5 while functioning the petitioner in his building in the land located in ward number 85, Srinivasan Pillai Road, Thanjavur.

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his office bearers.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

3.The claim of the petitioner is that he is a tenant in a Wakf property. The respondents 3 to 5 are interfering with the peaceful possession and enjoyment of the petitioner in the said property and they are also threatening the petitioner. Hence, he made a petition before the second respondent, seeking police protection, which has not been considered till date. Hence, this writ petition has been filed seeking the above relief. 4.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that based on the petition given by the petitioner, enquiry has been conducted by the police, but, the petitioner did not appear for enquiry. In the above circumstances, they are not in a position to proceed with the complaint given by the petitioner.
5.In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), the petitioner is directed to appear before the second respondent and cooperate with enquiry. 6.This Criminal Original Petition is closed with the above direction.
