RESPONDENT/COMPLAINANT Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the petition filed therewith the High Court will be pleased to extend the time by fifteen days to the petitioner to surrender himself before the learned Principal Sessions Judge, designated court for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act Cases, Ramanathapuram in connection with the case registered in Crime No.
131/2016 on the basis of the orders passed by this Honourable court in Crl.M.P.(MD) No.834/2017 in Crl.O.P.(MD) No.23894/2016 dated 8/2/2017 Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.S.SATHYA CHIDAMBARAM, Advocate for the petitioner and of M/S.A.P.BALASUBRAMANI, Government Advocate on behalf of the Respondents the court made the following order:- The petitioner was granted usual orders under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, in Crl.O.P.(MD)No.23894 of 2016, on 02.01.2017, with a direction to the petitioner to surrender before the Court concerned, within a period of fifteen days therefrom. Since the petitioner did not surrender, within fifteen days, he filed Crl.M.P.(MD)No.
834 of 2017, for extension of time, which was ordered by this Court on 01.02.2017, on condition that the petitioner shall pay a cost of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) to the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority, attached to this Bench. The petitioner paid the cost and reported the matter to this Court on 08.02.2017. This Court permitted the petitioner to surrender before the Court concerned on or before 15.02.2017. However, the order dated 08.02.2017 was made ready only on 21.02.2017 and, therefore, the petitioner was not able to surrender before 15.02.2017. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the second application for extension of time.
2. In view of the fact that the order dated 08.02.2017 was made ready only on 21.02.2017, two weeks time is extended from the date of receipt of a copy of this order for the petitioner to surrender https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
before the Court concerned. Rest of the conditions imposed by this Court in the order dated 01.02.2017 shall remain unaltered.
3. This petition is ordered accordingly.
