PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Cr.P.C., to direct the 2nd respondent to file a final report in Crime No. 289 of 2018 dated 21.12.2018, within a reasonable time on the file of the Siruganur Police Station at Trichy District. O R D E R
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking direction to expedite the investigation and file the final report in Crime No. 289 of 2018 on the file of the 2nd respondent police.
2. According to the petitioner, he has given a complaint on 10.11.2018 before the 2nd respondent, but the 2nd respondent police did not take any concrete action. Hence, the petitioner has approached before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Lalgudi and filed a direction petition under Section 156(3) in C.M.P. No.3923/2018, accordingly, the case was registered by the 2nd respondent for an offence under Section 120(b), 294(b), 419, 420, 465, 468, 471 and 506(ii) of I.P.C., in Crime No.289 of 2018, dated 21.12.2018. Eventhough, the case was registered in the year 2018, so far investigation has not yet been completed.
3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police on instructions submitted that the respondent police has commenced the investigation and they will complete the investigation and file a final report, within a period of 3-Months, before the concerned Jurisdictional Court.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation and file the final report, within a period of 3-Months, from the date of receipt of copy of the order.
5. With the above observations, this Criminal Original Petition stands closed.
