The writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 3 and 4 to ensure the Kumbabishekham Festival for temples, namely, Sri Vangalakariamman 2/6

Temple, Sakthi Vinayagar Temple and Manthaiyamman Temple situated at T.Alangulam Village, Thiruppuvanam Taluk, Sivagangai District scheduled to be held on 03.02.2023 or any other subsequent date, in accordance with the decisions taken in the Peace Committee Proceedings dated 13.07.2022 under the direct monitor of the respondents 3 and 4.

The learned Government Advocate (Civil Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 3 would submit that the Tahsildar, Thiruppuvanam has conducted a peace committee meeting on 07.12.2022, that the writ petitioner, after attending the meeting, has left the meeting half-way and that they have decided to conduct an enquiry as to who was doing the poojas earlier and in pursuance of the same, the concerned Village Administrative Officer has given a report stating that one Raman, S/o.Karuppan was doing the poojas for the past 15 years. He would further submit that the entire villagers are on one side and the writ petitioner is on the other side, that the writ petitioner has alone locked the temple premises and refused to unlock the same earlier and that all the villagers have decided to conduct Kumbabishekam tomorrow (03.02.2023).

3. Recording the above submission, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
